With the onset of the Common Core in math, I have discovered a startling fact! Our kiddos do not "know" numbers like they should. They do not REALLY know what 2 times 5 is. Sure they know that it is 10, but do they know why? I had hear of people doing this little thing called
the number of the day sheets for the little ones but never for our big kids. So I found one I liked and I tweaked it for the older students to use on a daily basis. I have seen tremendous growth in the knowledge base that my intervention students have about numbers now that I do this with them everyday. I give whole numbers, decimals, fractions, integers and whatever other kind of numbers I think that they are ready to start exploring. Here is what I came up with. Enjoy!
This link will send you to my drop-box. Click on the "Not Too Shabby Math Interventions" and find the number of the day file.
